Soft Tissue Fillers (Hyaluronic Acid based)
- Aim: to restore shape and volume, improving skin appearance. Enhancing an individual's unique beauty
- Outcome: To replace volume lost (rejuvenation) or simply to improve appearance (beautification) aiming the most natural look
- How: using Hyaluronic Acid which is injected in a specific targeted area of the face, performed by a qualified clinician using either a needle or cannula
- Areas to target: medial and lateral cheeks, nasolabial folds, chin, jawline, temples, lips, fine wrinkles, tear trough (dark circles under eyes)
- Appointment time: Varies according to what you are having done. Typically, a dermal filler appointment is an hour (to allow time for local anaesthesia)
- What to expect: directly after treatment with injections, there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and a numb sensation in the treated area. Occasionally bruising may occur. This is an average result of the injection. The irritation is short-term and in general vanishes in a day or two. Please do not book events a week from your appointment.
When lips are injected the initial swelling may last longer. Some patients can experience swelling for up to one week and the lips can look uneven during that time. Therefore, the immediate result after treatment to the lips is not the final result. Expect swelling/volume to reduce around 10% after first week. For lips, please allow 4-6 weeks as appropriate time to settle.
- Results: results are seen immediately after treatment, with evident improvement over few weeks as the hyaluronic acid integrates to the area of the body
- Duration: varies from 9 to 18 months
- Brands: Belotero, Juvederm, Teosyal, Aliaxin
